Presentations & Workshops
Anne has had to present in informal and formal settings, to varying groups throughout her marketing career - visiting automotive executives (such as Suzuki Motor Corp, Japan), Australian car dealers, clients, Playgroup mothers, Boards, media and colleagues.
Topics
- Marketing and PR: Presentations on marketing and public relations have been very well received by the business women of the Coffs Coast. They involve interaction with the group and live feedback and Q&A.
- Running a networking organisation. Anne’s goals in BWN were to grow the data base, the member benefits, the complexity of the events, the quality of the speakers, venues and catering and to subsequently roll-out a marketing program to capture renewed interest in the Network. All these ambitious goals were achieved.
In 2007, Anne was elected to the role of (volunteer) President of Coffs Coast Business Women’s Network (BWN). Her presenting style can be said to be relaxed, informal, inclusive, confident and fun. Each month, BWN runs a networking event and, as President, Anne’s role is to host the event, introduce the main speaker, bridge other speakers and run a networking game. She often employs a Q&A style (or humour) to get less confident members of the Network to speak about their business and make them feel welcome in the group.
BWN Key achievements:
- Data base growth from 236 to 1200
- Attendance at events from 41 (August 2008) to 116 (December 2008)
- Introduction of feedback forms to refine the event structure – 93.1 per cent of women at our last event said they ‘definitely will’ attend the next event and 96.6 per cent said they felt ‘very welcome’
- Engagement of metropolitan and international speakers. We hosted a live cross from an author in London in March this year – 100 per cent of the women there said the speaker was ‘very relevant’ and that her presentation style was ‘excellent’
- Introduction of Member Kits – with key sponsors of items – such as a conference satchel and business card holders
- Securing unique and delightful venues to act as a draw card – our February event at Y Knot Bistro at the Marina drew amazing responses – 100 per cent of our guests said the venue ambiance, food, service and layout was ‘excellent’
- Media coverage (press) for all our events, both pre-event and post event (social pages)
- Feedback from members who have been with the Network for the entire five years since inception in 2004 has been very encouraging:
“You girls are doing a great job, lots of new ideas – fantastic!”
Lesley Schoer, Business Coach.“Many thanks to you and the committee for a great BWN Xmas breakup last night,”
Glenda Frances, Business Coach.“I just wanted to congratulate your committee on the success of last night. You had lots of new ladies at the function and I think they all were very impressed. The alcohol tab was very generous and the food was more than sufficient and of a very high quality. I think the ladies got excellent value for their money.”
